December 18... Ain Shams University celebrates the International Day of the Arabic Language

Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, on the International Day of the Arabic Language, in partnership with the Arabic Language Academy and in cooperation with the Book Authority and the Culture Palaces Authority, the Opera House, the Artistic House of Folk and Performing Arts and the Artistic House of Theater; With the participation of a distinguished group of poets, writers and artists; Where the results will be announced and the winners participating in the university competition in the fields of classical poetry - colloquial poetry - lyrics - poetry recitation - short story - essay writing - script and dialogue - novel - theatrical composition - will be honored.

The celebration includes artistic performances and paragraphs for the university choir team, Arab music, and playing. The university team presents a folklore show and a Tanoura show, in addition to religious chanting and hymns for the university team, in addition to poetry performances by professors, students and university employees, and a lyrical paragraph for religious vocalist Ali Al-Helbawi, in addition to Artistic performances by the Artistic House of Folk and Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture), Puppet Theater (Artistic House of Theatre, Ministry of Culture)

Several exhibitions are also held, including an exhibition of plastic arts for university students, a book fair in cooperation with the General Book Authority and the General Authority for Culture Palaces, an exhibition of plastic arts for the Egyptian Opera House, a book fair for the Arabic Language Academy, in addition to an exhibition of plastic arts for professors and students of the Faculty of Specific Education.

The celebration will witness the honoring of the president and members of the Linguistic Complex of the Arabic Language among the university professors, and a poetry paragraph by Dr. Ahmed Taymour, accompanied by the artist Sameh Al-Sariti, the poet Jamal Bakheet and the artist Ahmed Al-Hagar.

During the celebration, two seminars will also be held, the first entitled "Language in the Contemporary Arabic Novel", moderated by media and writer Rola Kharsa, in which novelist Ahmed Al-Qarmlawy, winner of the Katara Prize in Literature 2021, journalist and novelist Professor Mustafa Obeid, writer and novelist Dr. Osama Abdel-Raouf El-Shazly, Professor Orthopaedic Surgery.

And the second symposium entitled (Prose poem), which hosts the poet Ibrahim Bagalati, Prof. Dr. Gamal Niazi.
