Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Sir Geoffrey Adams, UK Ambassador to Egypt, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and David Shrimpton, Director of International Relations at Royal Brompton Hospital Leading in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Mr. Hisham Okasha, Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, a twinning agreement between Ain Shams University Hospitals (Demerdash) and Royal Brompton Hospital in London through a three-year agreement between the two parties for a period of 5 years with funding of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) estimated at 30 million pounds, at 10:00 am on Monday, 11 November, at the headquarters of the Zafaran Palace.
This twinning is the first of its kind in this field, and includes five-year cooperation in the treatment of central aneurysms and aneurysms and limited interventions for the treatment of complex birth defects and heart valve diseases.
